Hazelnut, Honey, Fish Ordu Agriculture Summit
“Ordu Agriculture Summit” was held on November 25, 2023 with the cooperation and support of MÜSİAD ORDU and our Exchange. Ziver KAHRAMAN, Chairman of the Board of Directors of our stock exchange, made a speech at the opening of the summit where hazelnut, honey and fish were discussed.
Our stock exchange chairman addressed our members and stakeholders as follows.
“The Ordu Regional Agricultural Summit, organized by the Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sector Board of MÜSİAD, the NGO of entrepreneurship and one of our strong stakeholders, is important and meaningful.
Welcome to all of you.
I would like to start my speech by expressing the honor I feel to be together with this distinguished community. Agriculture and animal husbandry have never lost and will never lose their strategic importance from the first ages when humanity settled down to the present day. Agriculture and livestock breeding are the main source of wealth.
Today, ‘Honey, Fish and Hazelnut’ will gain even more meaning with the presentations and information transfer of our valuable experts. Since hazelnut and honey are among the quotation items of our stock exchange, the subject is also closely related to us and our members.
While Turkey is the leader in the world hazelnut production, Ordu is the location where hazelnuts are produced the most. The most honey in Turkey is produced by beekeepers from Ordu. We will witness the details and figures on the subject with the briefings to be held a little later.
Ordu has a coast of 100 kilometers to the sea. In this sense, fisheries and other aquaculture, hunting and trade are important. How much we benefit from the abundance of the sea and whether we can obtain value-added products from aquaculture products, especially fish, is both a key question and a problem.
As Ordu Commodity Exchange, all our perceptions about the existing and potential values and riches of our city are open. Our reports on production items including hazelnuts, honey and fisheries are published on our website and we know from the feedback that many institutions, organizations and businesses benefit from these reports in their work. Knowledge should not be kept waiting. With such activities, knowledge is transferred and the knowledge transferred grows and develops.
Yes, we have serious, deep-rooted problems in hazelnuts, beekeeping and fisheries. Overcoming these problems requires first identifying the problems with accurate and effective methods. First, the diagnosis must be made so that the treatment can begin and yield results.
I have already mentioned that MÜSİAD, one of the strong names of the private sector entrepreneurship culture, is among our strong stakeholders, and because of this sincere statement, I would like to express that we see ourselves as the host of this event, not the invitee.
Today, we will do something very meaningful and important. We will share and multiply knowledge. I hope that our togetherness and sharing will bring good to the country and the nation.
I wish you all the best and greet you all with respect”
