Ordu Commodity Exchange Press Release

It is expected that official estimated yield data will be shared in the coming days...

Public Announcement;

The hazelnut season of 2023 is just around the corner. The “Recolte Determination Committees,” established under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, have completed their work and sent their records to the Ministry for “approval.” It is expected that the official estimated yield data will be shared in the coming days.

In the current inflationary environment, it is evident that production costs are also increasing. We have no doubt that the reality of this situation will be taken into account when determining the “Base Price,” which will be announced by our government.

The hazelnut sector constitutes a unity from production to trade and export, working in an integrated manner. Any potential disruption at any point in the sector will have a comprehensive impact. This situation is a constant reality based on years of experience.

Therefore, the components of the sector must succeed in working together with a “stakeholder” mentality, acting together.

Hazelnuts are the fundamental and defining production pattern and commercial commodity of a geographic region. It is our primary duty to valorize and increase the added value of the product in which we are leaders in production and trade, to earn more and contribute more. Searching for a “constant responsible” for some problems and shortcomings is an energy that will waste time, much like being in a “vicious cycle.”

It should be known that the problem of every actor in the sector, from producer to trader, is common, and so is the solution to these problems.

While wishing for a fruitful, auspicious, and profitable 2023 hazelnut season, we express our belief that our government, which will announce the “Base Price” and conduct “Support Purchases,” will take into account the realities and demands of the sector, especially our producers. We extend our respects to the entire public.
